• Provide students with an understanding of, and engagement with, the legislative and policy frameworks that govern the inclusion of pupils from a range of groups, in relation to primary education 
• Enable students to engage with a range of possible underlying societal and educational issues affecting the inclusion of specific groups of children 
• Enable students to critically engage with a range of relevant research in this area. 
• Provide students with opportunities to evaluate the impact of a range of possible support strategies to promote inclusion for pupils from these specific groups
